It's been pretty quiet on the forums recently for one reason or another. I was just thinking of the days when I'd log on and couldn't keep up with the amount of posts flying around!! Anyway, I just thought I'd see how many Guests/Members you remember being logged on at once? (If anyone has ever cared to notice ). I seem to remember at one point I saw 12 members and 9 guests! For some forums that may be next to nothing, but for a Game&Watch forum I reckon that's pretty good! Mike, do you have stats on this? Most logged on at once, longest time between posts, etc, etc... Just curious is all... pulse8

Innis, unfortunately, the board doesn't keep such information by itself. I think I'll have to use a third party service for this. I remember about the same numbers you quote but that was probably busiest time in the life of this board. Usually there are 3-4 members and a couple of guests browsing.
Regarding the visitors, the problem is that a lot of collectors have lost interest the past months and so a lot of them doesn't visit the forum often and they're no longer interested in participating in discussions or starting new ones. Combine that with the lack of new collector appearances and there you have it. Random guests are few and far between partially because the board can't be found easily (although I've made my best to make it known) and because there's not a lot of interest for the games right now. But I think we've discussed this recently.

It's indeed quiet on this board now for some reason, but hey, when there's a new discussion between a buyer and seller everyone will suddenly be online again It's sad the good posts from some members don't get that much attention

It has indeed be quiet in the past a number of times aswell. I remember myself complaining about it quite a few times. Still I think something else is happening right now. I sense an overall lack of interest in g&w's which is getting worse with every week that passes ... Loads of people either quit, settled down or suddenly dissappeared into thin air. I am maybe not the most partial person anymore, but is something really happening or is it just me? Regards, sAner

I think that one of the main reasons for the slowdown on the forum is that a lot of the members that have been here for a while are slowing their collecting (because they have 'completed' or are near completion) and it's the discussion of new purchases that makes up the bulk of the posts. Less purchases = less posts. The other types of discussions like 'does this game exist' still happen but with the same members here and not many new members appearing, these sort of discussions have been covered over and over. We need new members to increase posts, although that will mean a repetition of what has already been discussed in some cases. Advertising the forum must be the key.

Andy is probably right. One other reason for the slowdown is lack of rare item auctions. It is discussions about such auctions that usually bring a bit of traffic to the board.
