Mike, I think you were lucky enough to buy your PS games before all the hype (a lot of it from this forum) drive prices up. Those days are loooooong gone. Patience had nothing to do with it, you just got into the 'market' before most of the current buyers. Patience will not buy you most PS for less than $500 unless you find a cheap BIN or hidden game, as I previously pointed out. So of course, you're right in saying that normal price + 30% is unrealistic in most cases, but you can be lucky if you're in the right place at the right time.

Andy, I must disagree. I have paid under $400US per game for each of my seven (7) PS. They were all purchased in the last month or two and all of them (Bar one) were done dealing with collectors and were not hidden at all. Over half also have all original parts intact inc. batts.

Hehehe, this is the worst thread-hijack I have ever seen in my life ... this looks more like a ps thread instead of a Andy Cole's Collection- thread. LOL! ;D

Andy, I'm talking in general about my items, not just pocketsize. One example of what I'm saying are the latest ps parachute auctions. If one had the patience not to bid in the first auction he could have gotten the second one for around half the price!! And if Kevin hadn't decided to bid in the second auction as well, the price would have been even lower!

Michael True, but who knows a second PS parachute will appear only hours after the first one ends? you never can tell, it might even take 5 years for the next one to come up! Most people can't wait that long when they have a chance of getting a rare item. But, like Paul says, patience is a virtue. I wish I had more of it And Michael, to be frank, you were very lucky to get that PS Fire last year for - what was it? - about 700$?. I don't think that was a matter of patience, just pure luck that someone slept through the end of the auction by accident and that there was a PS fire-attack auction at the same time Mattijs

True, but who knows a second PS parachute will appear only hours after the first one ends? What does that have to do with anything ? Having patience means that you don't bid unless there comes a time when the opportunity to get an item for a good price arises. And if you're patient you'll end up paying a lot less for your collection. That's what I said. Of course it was. Do you see me bidding high amounts of money in any of the latest pocketsize auctions ? I'd love to have a ps parachute, a ps mickey&donald or a MIMB rainshower but I don't want to pay a fortune for them. Luck has nothing to do with what I do. The ps fire I won, was the third one I had seen in Ebay. And I may not have been so patient when I started collecting but from my personal experience it's the wrong thing to do. Michael

Well, there's always a gamble in bidding high in RARE G&W auctions! The 2 PS Parachute & PS M&D are pretty hard to come by and I haven't seen ANY Parachute at ALL on EBAY since I started collecting until these while the last PS M&D was won by Paul over a year ago! There could be more of these items since I started collecting until now yet I might have missed them or they were offered to sell OUTSIDE of auction I just don't think there'll be more soon and esp. a BIG drop in price as they aren't common items like bassicstone's NIB auctions! I tend to have doubles or even quadriples of items as I collect variations (I now have ALL 4 known variations of English DK Boxes!), fill maybe 1/2 (DK/DKII come into mind!) of the shipping box while I like to keep some extras for trade/sell later...
