Nah Tasmania is too cold and not enough people. I like the big city. Nah, it's lovely, no colder than adelade or melbourne. It gets quite hot here in summer, just not as hot as QLD, which gets unbearable at times. Average temp in summer is like 22, which is just nice, allthough it oftern goes into the 30+'s it's hit 43 once I think. -B

You're absolutely right; Melbourne and Adelaide are too cold as well.

Yes it was a bit on the warm side wasn't it Pat.
I've only just got power back on. The electricity substation powering our grid had a meltdown and we went 12 hours with no power. They really need to upgrade their equipment in this area; we usually have a blackout or two every week.

The bushfires are starting early this year. It's going to be a long hot summer around here.

Well, this is the first photo of my updated collection... and the bit I am most thrilled about. Admittedly Climber is NINB and Balloon Fight has all paperwork and poly bag (no box or foam though) but I thought I'd capture them in their simplicity WOO HOO! This is a goal I have been chasing pretty much since I started collecting in the summer of 2003, so big thanks to Mark for buying me Balloon Fight for our 4 year anniversary, Emmo (wherever he is) for selling me the climber and finally the wonderful Iain for selling me Mario... my holy grail of G&W! One thing that really surprises me is that the "graphics" are totally different on the Crystal Mario to all the other mario releases. Of course we all know that the Crystals were all released in 86 and the NWS later 88 or so, but it only seems to be Mario which was redesigned. This Mario has the same style of drawing as Rainshower/Lifeboat/Mario Bros and I hope you can see that in the pic above, it was totally unexpected to me. The dear Princess Peach isn't nearly so pretty in this game, Bullet Bill looks more menacing, Bowser looks a real wimp when he falls out of his castle too. Lakitu looks most like his final 88 version. Well... I thought it was interesting anyway P.S. 2 of the crystals are on British summer time.... oops

Yes, it does come as a surprise when you get YM801 that it is totally different from YM105. I first thought that they couldn't get the detail on the crystal screen sprites, but the other 2 are just as fine detail as the wides. I expect the answer is that the YM801 was designed way before the others and by the time they got to production, they had refined the process and made the other 2 with the finer details. Date-wise, I think TF-104 a year earlier than the crystals is the earliest game of them all with these fine detailed sprites, so it's possible YM-801 was on the drawing board for over a year.
Andy.
