I used to own all known 3 oem games at some point: blackjack, dk2 and super mario. I still got the pics I think. Torsten should still have them if I'm not mistaken..

Interesting question.. It was the other way around probably though. Nu pogodi was released in 1986, a long time after the initial release of Egg. It made sense for the Russians to copy the character since the wolf from nu pogodi was a major character in Soviet Union folklore from the 60s and the cold war till the beginning of the new millennium. The animated series lasted almost 40 years!
Nintendo's choice was just a logical one considering the theme of the game. It would have been either a fox or a wolf imho..

This may be a bit of a stretch, especially since the database obviously doesn't represent even 1% of all the games ever produced, but, if these numbers are correct, based on the data we have so far, it would almost appear as if Egg was produced BEFORE Mickey Mouse. Aris I saw your post and I have to add a couple of things.. First of all Mickey Mouse and Egg were released simultaneously (according to official Nintendo release dates). Serial numbers mean nothing in this case because most batches of games were probably created before their release. Secondly, I don't see a point why Nintendo would release both games in a country since they're essentially the same game. No one would have bought Egg in this case. And even if you don't believe that Egg was released in Asia and Australia only, there's no denying that it was a limited release (acc. to production numbers, its rarity and facts mentioned above). Egg may have appeared elsewhere for sale and that can be attributed to unofficial imports or Nintendo's attempt to sell remaining stock at a later date. It wouldn't have been that uncommon.. Michael

Well, filefront/gamefront has deleted my faq from their servers. They do that when the file has no downloads for a while. If anyone wants the FAQ just email me and in the meantime I'll upload it somewhere else.. Edit: Here's the link to the faq if anyone wants it.. db.tt/wb6AGwCrMichael

Nice work Ash! Maybe Aris should make this thread a sticky.. You can update your list with the games mentioned on the back of the card of the games since most releases (if not all) are mentioned there..

I hope everybody had a wonderful christmas time and enjoy the last moments of 2011 with their families and friends! The santa smilies have been uploaded to a host server in Greece and in order to see them you have to add the proper links in the board settings. Obviously Aris doesn't know how to do that since he doesn't know where the smilies are. Moreover, the snow script has to be manually added in the forum's code and it's also hosted in a server here. When I find the time, I'll try to upload the santa smilies permanently so anybody can use them at any time and we'll see about the snow script.. Michael

Some people might have already noticed the word administrator under Aris' username but let me just make it official: Aris is the new administrator of this board. In essence Aris has complete control over everything that happens in here and he'll be responsible for the well fare of the forum from now on.
This decision was made a couple of months ago and it wasn't an easy one. The thing is I don't have much free time these days (what with my one year old baby and such) and considering the turmoil Greece is in nowadays, I just don't have my mind set on devoting time on hobbies right now. More important things have to take priority.. I'm not leaving the board but I might do it in the future so it's best to be prepared for when the time comes. I'm still gonna visit but it won't be so often from now on.
Anyway, I will still be checking my PMs or emails so feel free to email me for any questions you might have about game&watch, this board or whatever.
