Hey guys. Would $5,000 Dollars net me the entire Game & Watch Gallery of games?

$5000 divided by 59 games is about $85 a game on average... if you wanted an unboxed collection in average condition and were patient you could probably get somewhere near ... probably you could get to 50 games... getting to 59 would be difficult.

cNpGnW Okay. Then I guess waiting until $10,000 thinking in averages will net me the 59 games to complete the collection. Thanks for letting me know.

This seems to be the right spot to say hi, so here goes.
I am new to Game&Watch's but already collect and restore pinball and arcade machines, but run out of space there.. LOL. I have also been buying broken retro consoles, particularity sega stuff (dreamcast/saturn) and repairing them though really don't need any more ;-)
I tend to value things more when I have repaired or restored them and enjoy that process.
Unfortunately with game and watches there is not so much there to actually repair unlike a pinball machine, lol, but I always loved them as a kid so why not have a go.
I have bought a few units already.
Mickey dual screen - working fine and overall good condition but with damaged silver backing so replace those.
Donkey Kong 2 - got for around AUD$65 (shipped) in good condition but with faded polarizers which I found a source for mobile phones for $2 each and will cut them down.
Octopus - got for AUD$35 (shipped) in very good shape other than some strange control (button) behavior. Cleaned the board but didn't help, but I checked the few caps and resisters and noticed the electrolytic capacitor that sits in between the buttons is bad so will replace that and see how it goes. Either way if it is unfix-able (bad main chip) it is good for parts at that price I think.
Will wait around and see what else comes up on ebay, just watching for decent condition overall (for non repairable things) but with faults I can deal with ;-)
Not so interested in boxes etc, just the actual complete units.

Hi Joele, welcome to the forum. It's not too lively on here these days but still it ticks along... I enjoy dismantling and cleaning up my G&Ws when they need it, I really enjoy it... a clean of the contacts is most often enough to fix 'broken' controls and even when not broken a clean helps with responsiveness. Put a message into the Collectors Top List thread and Ash will add you to the list there if you're interested. G&Ws are certainly easier to collect space-wise but unfortunately not cheaper for it! I have a full set of G&W with 54 of those boxed... but only 2 Arcade cabs! cNp

Greetings. Although I can't buy anything yet because I don't really have a job, I would like to begin my collection when I start my job.
I am playing the Game Boy Compilations of the Game & Watch Gallery right now but with the Konami Hyperboy, a New Condition Game Boy Mono and the various Game & Watch Compilations I can create a Tabletop Styled System. But other than that, I will have to wait until I get employed.

Hi all, My name is JR and I live in Germany. I´ve been browsing this forum for some time, and decided to join. Game & Watch brings back good memories from my school days. When I was seven, many kids in school had the latest in electronic entertainment, mostly G&W from wide screen, multi screen and panorama screen series. I remember playing Fire, Octopus, Green House, Oil Panic, Donkey Kong, Mickey & Donald, Life Boat and the Panorama Screen Popeye. They were too expensive, so I never got one as a present. Later (around 1984) I got my first electronic game, a watch with Q-Bert, and traded it for a Donkey Kong JR New Wide Screen. I even bought the watch again (it was a lot cheaper than a G&W), as it had been a present. Twenty years later I was working at NOE! (I quit in 2007) I am mostly interested in the games I used to play/want when I was a kid, but it is hard to get them in mint condition. I value G&W consoles in (at least) Very Fine+ condition, the box, paperwork, etc. is secondary to me. My small collection so far: Green House (loose, C8.5) Donkey Kong (boxed, C8.5), Donkey Kong (loose, C8) Oil Panic (MiMB, C9.5) Donkey Kong JR (New Wide Screen, loose, C8.5) I am looking for Parachute (C8.5-10), Octopus (C8.5-10), Popeye (Panorama Screen, C8.5-10), Rain Shower (C8.5-10) and Life Boat (C8.5-10). Thanks for this great forum, it´s a valuable resource for G&W. Greetings, JR

Hey there ! I came here and enjoyed reading some threads because I found this in an old box from my childhood : I am really surprised to see that this game still plays perfectly and above all that it's still really fun to play! Did all the G&W were that fun to play ? Also I saw that Climber was only distributed in the US and Europe and was wondering why. Is there any explanation why some games were not distributed in Japan ?

Welcome to the forum, Narsi I am from Denmark, but actually got Green House on a vacation in Oslo when I was 8 in 1991. I think Sweden, though, was the Scandinavian country most into G & W back then.

Hello. I am DynamanJim, or as I call a former life of mine "Delusional Greed."
I was on the board but I am guilty for what I dub "Late Fees." Is this even remotely fair to those who are providing their services? As you all know, Greedy little punks (like my former life) are a lot quicker with their eyes than having a long patience to save up. They always say "Pay you soon and after that send it" but the money never comes. I am going to get a job soon as I get my education, so I will stay Far, far away from the Marketplace until I Pay up all the Late Fees owed to the people. This will be the only way I can repent of my sins.

I just bought my first Game & Watch from eBay. YM-105 if I recall. Anyways, I can start up my collection thread as soon as I get pictures.
...At least I have something to show.
