An NES game for Grandma? I can't believe it never got the green light. Is this really true a NES Knitting Machine for Grandma? JB Nintendo was really going to release this product in North America, but none of the potential buyers like Toys R US were impressed with the prototype, so it was scrapped. On the surface it's a silly idea, but it shows that Nintendo was trying to reach a new target audience (primarily young girls to older women) even way back then, when pimply teenage boys were about 90% of the consumer base. They eventually succeeded in reaching female and older "light gamers" with the Nintendo Wii, and to some extent with the DS.
