Does this green manhole still work? Do you all agree on the green fire? Most people here believe that the green Fire is a factory error. I also want to point out that Manhole and Donkey Kong Jr. both have a white top half. It's entirely plausible that the wrong color of plastic was poured into the Manhole mold/stamper at the factory for a short run.

Does this green manhole still work? Do you all agree on the green fire? Okay, I have a new development to add to the confusion. I recently bought what I thought was a green Fire, because the photos made it look like that. Only the battery cover looked original blue in the photos. When the game arrived, I immediately noticed that the front half of the Fire was regular blue, and the back half was "green." Here are some pics: Even the inside of the "green" half is consistently green all the way through, so it wasn't sun fade. The person who sold this to me said it's been like that since he bought it brand new. Any thoughts?

That's true Ash.. I have the same game.. Half blue and half green.. To confirm this i started the post on casing and panel numbers but alas, no response in that section.. What i want you to do is open this game.. The number on the green case should match the number on the blue case.. If they both match, bingo! you have a unique game as well.. Also check the number on the battery cover and the number inside the battery compartment where the second battery is put..
Congratulations on your purchase.. I vouch for this game to be genuine and rare.. I can post the pictures of my game too..
The weirdest of all color fallacies: I have a Rainshower with a GREEN Battery Cover!!! This is truly amazing as no games have come in green in this series.. And it is a original battery cover as i have read in the FAQ's how to distinguish them..
Regards..

That's true Ash.. I have the same game.. Half blue and half green.. So you have the same multi-colored Fire, Aatif? What is the serial number? Mine is 20189327. I posted the other information you requested here: mpanayiotakis.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=general&thread=2672&page=1Now I'm torn, was the green half a mistake at the factory, or was it naturally discolored somehow by the environment? If it's the latter, why would only the back half be discolored in green, consistently inside and out, while even the battery cover remains blue? Maybe the machinery that produced the back halves at the factory had the wrong color in it for a short run? I'm confused more than ever now. Ash

This cannot happen due to fading.. Not possible.. The inside cannot fade as much as the outside.. So the question of fading is ruled out.. I think it is a wrong color run at the factory..
We only have blue green or green blue color differences and fallacies.. The only think i can imagine is the mixing of the color at the factory.. Either the excess of mixing to get a blue turns out to be green..
Green Manhole, Green fire, Green battery cover for rainshower : These games were suppose to be blue in color but turned out green somehow due to a mixing error as far as i can deduce.. The blue must have been mixed with a little more white to make it look light blue which in correction turned green..
I will have my serial number posted so we can conclude a little as to what could have been the case.. Until now i thought i have a weird game with the mix of blue and green.. Your game increases my curiosity.. We need to trace this error.. Hopefully any one here with a knowledge of paint mixing can help us solve the issue..
Regards..

I don't think that's accurate. The two or three on this thread have only Nintendo on the back.

Thanks for the pics, Phil. So yeah, we can say that your collector friends claim that the greens only have "Nintendo Co.,Ltd." on the back is not accurate (if that is what they were claiming). I only wish it were that simple.

what is the difference between Nintendo and Nintendo co ltd ? Nintendo Co.,Ltd. is the official name of their original company based in Kyoto, Japan. Not sure why some only say "Nintendo." Probably someone decided to change it for a trivial business-related reason some time down the road.
