That's as portable as it gets. I like the design, very simple but that's all it needs. That would be the 3rd makeover in design since the original GBA was launched I guess.

Yes, it's more of a gameboy advance than a new machine. I'm not sure what Nintendo is hoping to achieve with this. I think they should have concentrated on the DS.

they build the GB micro in order that it has the same size as a mobile phone. they try to reach kids or teenagers that do not have a GBA or GBA SP due to the size... anyway it's fully compatible with GBcolor, GBA and GBA SP games...

Why would any kid now buy the micro instead of the DS ? It's not like the DS is an expensive system or anything..

I do not agree on this, I sell nintendo in my little shop, and it's a fact that the advance sells better since the ds is released (I'm finally getting rid of the old stock ;D) I think it's because the children want a ds or something like it, and then the the parents see the advance (50 euro cheaper than ds) and give them an advance

I'm comparing the micro and the DS, NOT the advance. The gameboy advance never stopped selling and it has an established market with hundreds of games. Most of the people that buy it had been planning to buy it for a long time and now it's a great opportunity. One the other hand, there are only a handful of games out for the DS and they're more expensive than advance games. I really doubt that the micro will have the same price tag as the advance anyway.
I just don't understand their thinking. They should have released a smaller DS instead of this.

Yes but I mean the micro is just another gba, and cheaper (as from what I've heard)

My view is that the GB Micro is Nintendo's attempt to squeeze the last bit of profit out of the GBA system before it's being phased out by the new systems. I think this is similar to the release of the slim PS2.
I would be very interested in buying one for playing my existing GBA game collection in light of its greater portability and the better screen.

Yes, but the slim PS2 was released more than a year before the expected launch of PS3..
Does anybody know if the cartridge of the DS is a standard flash card like the ones floating around for cameras etc or is it a proprietary one ? I think I've seen Asian sellers selling DS games in Ebay. Have they managed to make copies of games already ?

Yes, I've got mine (the Famicon version) as soon as it's released!
It's very portable (i.e. small and light) and feels like a silver or gold GW in the hand. It has a bright, sharp, and adjustable screen and long play time. The build quality is also excellent (doesn't feel toyish like the other Game Boy consoles).
I used it to play Mr. Driller 2 for many nights since I bought it and I just love it ;D I prefer it over the PSP as a portable system. The bad thing is that it makes my GBA SPs immediately obsolete.

Well i think i'll buy that famicom special edition as soon as i could (at an affordable price of course), and i just win yesterday the Gameboy SP famicom edition ... i fear the fact that' i'm becomming addictive to nintendo stuff... also i have found this on the nintendo Japan website : What do you think about it... as turtle bridge is one of my favorite, i think i'll buy that one also..
