Hi fans, Well, I'm still here! Thanks for the birthday messages. I still check into the forum most days, but I've obviously turned into a pervy "lurker" - devouring all the news without contributing.... I could claim it's because I'm overworked trying to move house, and look after a 2 year old at the same time, but I'd be lying. It's really just because I'm out of the market. It's fun watching everyone else scrabbling towards their 60/60 though. Trust me it's worth it when you get there. ;D Life is (reasonably) good. Me and the family are moving even further west - to Hayle in Cornwall - where I hope to open a music shop (no doubt there will also be a G&W cabinet in the corner, too).... Because I don't have a fulltime job at the moment, I'm doing freelance work for a couple of publishers and flogging on ebay when I can be bothered. But it somehow seems more of a hassle than it used to (anyone else feel the same?) and I swear they've put their fees up too..... Anyhoo, Still interested in a G&W get-together - I reckon we should do PARIS next (waddya-all-think??). We could all go "In-Seine" in Paris - I feel another T-shirt coming on..... Love n kisses to the G&W community. Jonners PS - Paul I haven't forgotten you. I just wanted to make you sweat a bit...

Jon, yes Ebay has revised their fees. I recently sold some games and I had to pay 170 euros only for Ebay fees!!! Ebay doesn't let you charge for these fees and they may come up to 10-15% of the end total!! Then you have bidders complaining that the shipping costs you've quoted in your auctions are too high when in reality they won't cover even the basic fees!! I think Ebay won't be a monopoly for too long..
Btw, happy birthday florent!!!

Nice to hear from you Jon.
Listing on ebay has always been a hassle. But while you're still an excited collector, it numbs the pain. Once your interest wanes a little, the hassle is all you feel. Hence why I haven't sold anything on ebay for god knows how long.

@andy, Confucius he say "you're spot on bro". when is the ebay backlash gonna happen though? I see it as something similar to the UK Property market - everyone keeps saying it's due for a crash, but it never happens.... It certainly explains why there has been a trend towards "overloading" postage recently... Well, what do ebay expect people to do?

Common you deserve high property prices, you are paid like kings... remember that net month salary of half of the people in France is the price of a Mickey Mouse Panorama screen....yep around 600GBP. Welcome to the third world....

900 euros for half the french people ? Seems hard to believe. The average salary here is lower than that though!
Happy birthday Pablo!!

we french are in the middle of a political debate so every candidate is showing figures and it appears that allmost half of our population is earning the minimum salary which is 1300 euros ie 980 euros net per month! hard to believe when you see that you need 300 to 350 000 euros to buy a 50 quare meter flat in Paris!

Yeah, but those people in Paris are undoubtedly earning WAY above the average!
Average wage in the UK may be about 40-45000 euros per year, but in London, the average may be double that.

believe me it is not that much higher. Parisian seems to be paid 25% only more than other cities so you will see a lot of people living in Paris earning really 1500 euros net and have a rent of 750 euros. ANyway life is hard for everyone!
