a hoax that is, Thai airmails wouldn't solve such problems with email messages, I'm sure they have good contacts with all governments to solve problems with unidentified people

I would agree that this looks like a hoax email, there are plenty of them about, asking for donations, etc.
Also there would be better ways of identifying a person I think.
There are also some sick people like the english man who sent emails to relatives of people missing after the disaster saying they were dead. He got their email addresses from a message board.

The boy in the picture was indeed someone who needed to be identified. His picture was on the news and in the newspaper. They found his Swedish (?) dad though, so that's ok now.

we should STOP donating money, because the cashflow is simply too large Ah, I doubt this is a real problem since most cash is used to buy supplies and all transfers are done electronically nowadays. Pieter, that was an interesting read! I never knew about this volcano but the climatic threat is more imminent I think.. If you see the photos that compare the condition of the poles 40 years ago and today you'll be devastated! I think that greenpeace or some other organization has some photos in their site.. Michael

That test is very good, and anyone who receives regular phishing spams should try it -and view the 'why?' links on the answer page. I got 8 out of 10 (1 and 9 wrong)

I feel quite proud of myself getting 9/10 but there were a lot of doubts. I still wasn't 100% so will be on guard!! ;D Great survey though. The first ebay one was like bumping into an old friend

Just tried the test again as I realize it has changed since I last did it.
Before you could put your mouse over the links to see what they were which made it easier as you could always look for https in the address.
This time I got 8/10 right.
Got No 10 and worringly No 2 wrong.
