You should have come to me first then Rene!!! ;D LOL! If I'm well informed, you and some others forgot to bid on my auction. ;D err yes that was the case!!! I remember kicking myself afterwards! - I mean I've only wanted to get my hands on it for 5 years, so of course I was bound to forget it wasnt I!!!!!! Oh well got there in the end. As for the debate we can go round and round and on and on (Aris ) but there will always be reasons to stay on ebay and stay off. I've generally left my stuff on, but there have been cases where I got a fraction of the price I should have, so I would always consider a deal now. You just can't tell these days. I think some people don't bother bidding because they think it will go too high and then no one bids!! I mean look at that MCF TT I sold recently, it's got to be the best one sold on ebay ever, it was complete and the full works, yet it got Sweet FA!!!! (Mind you that might have been my fault for making a link to the other one that sold for $$$$$$!! ) I agree that those without the funds to bid to the end of the auction should try whatever they need to in order to get the game, it's a bit like all the big corporations buying everything up, what are you going to do, just sit there and let it happen? Everyone has to do what they have got to do, I mean if you leave it on, I'm just gonna buy it anyway!!! ;D PD out! p.s. Good news the brick looks a lot like a NOA Punch Out!!!

Hello ! ^^ A mario bros POKKA loose for sale at 50€ removedBest regards from France Fred Edit: Please post again the link when the auction is over. Unless you post about your own items it's best to avoid linking to running auctions as it attracts unwanted competition!!

Hello ! ^^ A mario bros POKKA loose for sale at 50€ removedBest regards from France Fred Hi Fred, I'm not sure if you're aware, but, it's frowned upon to post links to LIVE auctions, especially if the games are considered rare. I would imagine the link will be removed by either Andy or Mike, as soon as they see it. Anyway, this is just an FYI for you. I'm sure you didn't know about the unwritten rule. AC

Regarding point 2, you're not circumventing any rules if you BIN an item Mike. I know, I was talking about deals outside Ebay. And if you want my opinion, ending an auction early and selling the item to the highest bidder is a strange rule and one that can easily manipulated to suit an outside deal. I don't understand the logic behind this option.. I don't know who emails sellers in order to convince them not to sell their items cheap nor to sell to buyers that won fair and square using BIN or otherwise and I don't condone it. But I think it's perfectly normal to ask sellers to let auctions run their course and advise them not to succumb to various outside offers.. gmaster1975 welcome to the forum! It would be more convenient if you posted a link to your auctions! Michael

Sorry, my english is very very poor, and unfortunaly I certainly don't know the rules ...
mpanayiotakis : ok I understand, but you see the auction is 'buy it now', no bidding compétition
Excuse me again :+/

Well, he's a veteran G&W seller, so, he knows what he's doing. People always resort to this sort of thing when prices get too high, so, if he did go outside ebay to sell it, I'm sure it's so he wouldn't lose a big chunk of it to ebay fees! AC

Why would anyone make an outside deal for a boxed wide manhole? It's not like you won't see it again for auction in Ebay!! Maybe the seller found a buyer elsewhere? Fred, there's no problem, how could you know? Michael

I think everyone knows where I stand on this, and I know I'm standing alone, but, while what Mike states in his "what have we noticed lately" section is for the most part, true, one thing that I think gets easily overlooked is the fact that letting the auction go the distance means that only the Devsters, Michael Ps, Andrew Wees and Kevin Wongs of the world will keep getting these rare items, and those of us that reach into our pockets and can only pull out chump change, will never get such a rare item. I still believe there is nothing wrong with asking a seller if they have a BIN price, or a set price they would be willing to sell their item for. Items sell for more than they should, and for less than they should all the time! What Paul did with the NOA PO is normally frowned upon, however, b/c no one else here would pay that much for it, no one is going to complain about it. Plus, as he said, his offer left both parties happy, so, in the end, that's the goal, no? And no Paul it wouldn't be a crime to have gotten for 200 quid from a new seller. Because he would be happy, and you would be extremely happy. Again, this is just my opinion on this matter. I'm not the law, and I probably don't represent the majority, at least not the vocal majority, but, I know I represent more than just myself on this issue, as well as a silent majority! AC out Aris, I think we all know that you're not standing alone any more. More and more people are doing these deals now, mostly because it's the norm rather than the exception nowadays. When a rare item comes up, nobody expects it to go to the end, so the ONLY way of having a chance of winning it would appear to be to get the highest 'private bid' in. Yes it is still frowned upon, but there are some people who originally spoke out against this sort of thing that are actually doing it. When I sold a load of games about a year ago, I got private offers from quite a few people, most of whom were members here. None of them freely admit to placing such offers while on the forum. You say that when such a deal is made then as long as the buyer and seller are happy then what else matters, but of course you are forgetting the many 'friends' (or whatever you want to call them) that you are aggravating. So not EVERYONE is happy. Having said all that, if I were still collecting, with the situation the way it is, I'd probably go with the current flow and put in private offers myself nowadays because as I said earlier, and as you already said, it is the only way if you can't afford to let the auction run. I guess if everyone was doing it, the playing field would be level and nobody could get upset. A free for all! But then I suppose we'd be back to only those with the most money winning everything so the 'chump change' camp would be upset again. There can never be an ideal situation. Andy

lol, I laughed when I saw the half French, half English question asked on the tabletop popeye. I wonder who that was?! That BF-803 seemed a bit pricey considering the condition The seller of the boxed DKC does seem like trouble but he/she says that they are selling all of their games, I don't suppose people will be able to resist the temptation.
