Firstly, you need your own webspace. (I think almost every ISP gives their subscribers around 10MB of free webspace).
Don't try and up load pictures to a free webspace provider like Yahoo Geocities as you CAN'T LINK DIRECT TO IMAGES OUTSIDE OF THIS FREE SPACE. Example, if anyone tries to link to any of the photo images on my website if will not load, the only way of seeing images on my site is via my web-pages which are stored on Yahoo. This is the restriction placed by Yahoo since the service is free and they want you to look at the advertising banners.
So, when I link to a picture from a thread in this forum, or when I'm selling games on eBay the images are coming from my AOL webspace which DOES allow you to link from outside of AOL. The reason why I don't use AOL webspace for my website is because it's tedious uploading images and is really unfriendly to use.
If you are having trouble getting images to appear in this forum then you are welcome to email me the picture and I'll upload it to my own webspace and link it for you.

I can't quite see your point here Michael Obviously, if your linking from this forum to most commerical sites then of course the image will appear. Have you misunderstood the previous postings? The problem is that some people here can't link their own photos because their images are stored on sites that do not allow external linking. Southbomb, the URL link you entered will not work anyway. You need to link direct to the image itself (often in a .jpg or .gif format) and not to a web page on your website. Even if you entered the correct link it still probably won't work anyway for the reason I gave in my earlier posting (unless you pay Yahoo a subscription fee for your webspace then it should work) /QJ

QJ is right, direct linking to most of our own sites doesn't work ... sAner
