Maybe your parents threw your games away. That's what happened to me. My mother thought i wouldn't be interested in them anymore after some years . She was wrong... 20 years later i also found Ebay, and took 2 years to complete the collection. I agree with you, it's very important to buy only quality games. About making 999 points with all the games, try with Rain Shower, that's a challenge! Wellcome to this forum and happy collecting!

Welcome to the forum Joncco! Well, we all start somewhere, so, I guess your starting point was a Gold Manhole game. Mine was Fire from the WS series. I didn't even know the Gold & Silver series games existed when I first started playing with these games back in grade 5/6. I kept all the original boxes and manuals as well. They were all still there when I left for high school. After high school, I went back to my parents' house to find them all gone. Someone may have swiped them who knows? Ha! I think a more likely scenario is what Pablo suggested, or the good ol' "disappearance by garage-sale" route. I did manage to fix a heavily liquid-damaged DK2 and may write about it someday. Please tell me it has nothing to do with the tube of Deep Heat you have pictured amongst your games... I also play all the games. I have also set my target to get at least 999 on all the games (or 9999 on those that support it). I'm currently at 32/60 (a few are not in the pictures above) And if you get bored/accomplish the RS challenge, try clocking Mario Bros. or Climber. That, is really hard! No one here has accomplished it so far! Good luck with your collection! AC

Congrats on your collection Jon! They look very nice and you're one of the few collectors that enjoy playing with them! You can submit some of your highscores in the highscores thread in the main section!
I'd really like to know more about how you've managed to save a damaged/bleeding lcd screen. It could help a lot of collectors restore their games!

Thanks for all the kind words of welcome. No, I don't think my mother threw them out. At the time I went back from high school, the boxes were all still where I left them but the contents mysteriously disappeared. This was years ago in the Philippines. And no we don't have garage sales either. The boxes eventually got thrown out since the contents were all gone. Sorry if my words was misleading. I didn't actually fix a damaged/bleeding screen. This was DKII that I bought off ebay that was described as "does not power on". Behind the lower screen looked like beads of water (it turned out to be softdrink). Upon disassembly, a major part of the circuit board somehow got "dissolved". Since I had nothing to lose, and I know the IC for these literally last forever, I proceeded to try getting it fixed. I will take it apart again and take some pictures of this and post it in a separate thread sometime this week. And no, it has nothing to do with the Deep Heat tube, that's what I use for my thumb muscles after an extended period of gaming. Also, I wonder what it is with the DK jr panorama. Almost every lose unit on ebay has the front plate missing!

It's a pity the boxes were thrown out. They are more expensive and difficult to find in good condition than the games itself. About the metal plate of Donkey Jr. panorama is just bad luck. In the next days, you'll sure find many of them with perfect plate.

Hi, welcome to the forum. Nice collection!
Your story is very familiar. Some of us had them as kids, some of us didn't. I remember playing other kids' games at school and always wanted one but never had one. Then fast forward 10 years or so and the internet allowed me to discover all about the games. I remember the thrill of finding out about all the games I never knew existed. This was before ebay but I expect it was very similar to the time when you first checked ebay and saw hundreds of them!
I once posted an article about how you could buy games very cheaply if you weren't all that bothered about the condition. I think you could get 50/60 working games for about 1000 dollars.
