At 70€, I don't buy... These are prices I've seen in some shops around town. The only two games I've got are Motorstorm and his sequel Pacific Rift, which I bought for 20€ (the 2) in a Cash Converter (2nd hand shops in Belgium). I didn't search ebay or amazon yet, but in 10 days there'll be a big second hand trade market 30 km from home, and I hope to find some good bargains there, like last year.
I don't know Vuze, and I'm pretty sure that the situation is still the same even with no other computer running, just the PS3. So I don't think there's any program giving the access to the console. I'll try to make my post tomorrow, and I'll let you know any info I might get.
Today I went to one of these Cash Converter shops, and I've seen a PS3 R&C. Don't remember the title, but as I've been able to understand, that was just some kind of "little add-on adventure", as said on a sticker on the box. So for 15 €, it sounded too expensive to me.

Yeah... It's the same in Denmark... New games cost €70... Which is why I rarely buy games in Denmark - I only buy them if they're on sale....or in those very rare occasions when I just have to own a game and can't wait for it to sent from abroad ;D It seems that you have the same situation in Belgium as we do in Denmark with the second hand games... In my opinion €20 is too much for a used game... You can easily find new games on the net for the same price... By the way it's good that you didn't buy the R&C you saw... As I recall it's called "Quest for Booty" and it's sort of a "mini-sequel" filling in between the previous and the newest game... It's okay, but it is far too short to pay almost as much for as one of the "real" games... It is really nothing more than an add-on adventure as you wrote - you could describe it as an expansion pack to the previous game You want to get "Tools of Destruction" or "A Crack in Time".... Oh, and if you didn't already know, Sony has dropped the backward comaptibility on the PS3...so you can't run PS2 or PS1 games on it anymore... Which is a shame because the R&C games for the PS2 is great games as well - and they're cheap Vuze is a bittorrent client... You might have heard about Edonkey or KaZaa.... Pretty much the same thing It doesn't have to be Vuze...could be any other media-sharing program with access to the network disk - I just mentioned Vuze because I know for a fact that the PS3 hooks up to it automatically when it's on the same network. But I guess we can rule out that theory then...especially if the PS3 is able to connect to the network disk while all other systems on the network is offline.... So it is a serious head-scratcher... I mean, the PS3 just shouldn't be able to do it... it isn't meant to hack stuff all by itself And it only makes it weirder that your network disk allows it to do it.... So I'm looking forward to hear if you find an answer...

Finally, I found a LBP on ebay last week, got it for 13€ and as it was only a few kms from home, I picked it up at the seller's. My kids only tried it yesterday, and they seem to love it ;D
I also found a R&C Tools of Destruction on saturday on a big flea market (round 13€ too). Not tested yet (but it's a one player only game).
I knew about PS3's lack of compatibility. But it's not a problem for me, as I have older consoles from Sony (among others) : one PSTwo, one fat PS2 with defective lens (I'm planning to install a hard drive on it with freemcboot card), two PS1 (one out of order, don't know the problem) and one PSOne.
Regarding Sony's "Dark Side of the Cell Power", I indeed have an Amule sometimes running on a Linux system, but the PS3 access also works even with the Linux shut down. And I can say too that the NAS is not tuned as an Amule's shared folder.
I described the situation on another board, and got more or less the same paths you mentionned. But nobody's been able to clearly give me an answer. So now, I think the only way would be to ask Sony, but i'm pretty sure I won't get a coherent response...

Hi Pheldge Yeah R&C is single player only - sorry I didn't mention that.... I'm looking forward to hearing more about the hacking abilities of the PS3. Although I think you're right that Sony won't provide the answer.... But somewhere, someone knows

I'm kind of annoyed by nintendo releasing a new DS every single year but if this is the actual successor to the DS then I hope it offers a lot more then.
Hopefully the 3DS will have a lot more upgraded technology than the DS/DSi, and maybe be like the GameCube or something. If it had specs like the gamecube then you could have better terrains in games than the DS/64, and break through that limitation.

It should be more powerful (the 3D mode needs it or rather requires it) but Nintendo isn't Sony. They don't care on creating powerful machines based on the latest hardware. They prefer to focus on the fun factor and this is why I'm sure it will be another successful handheld!

Nintendo presented a prototype in E3 and Gamespot wrote a few things about it: e3.gamespot.com/story/6265920/nintendo-3ds-hands-on-previewIt seems that the dimensions of the device are very close to the dimensions of the DSi, it has an upgraded processor and there are 3 cameras on the device (two external ones for taking 3d photos and one internal). If they can only do make the game 3D but without the glasses that would be perfect. Besides, I think I will wait a bit when the price goes down before I can jump on board cause it will cost me an arm and a leg.

The 3ds will be released on Feb 26, 2011 in Japan and March of 2011 in N.America and Europe. The initial price will be about $300 in Japan. That means that price in Europe will be around 300 euros and that's really expensive. I hope Nintendo rethinks their pricing policy.. I don't want to see a nice console ruined by its price tag, like Sony did with the PSP.. Anyway, the console will have an impressive line-up of games upon launch: It will also be possible to play gameboy and gameboy color games via a virtual console service (whatever that means..). The console will support multitasking (web browsing while playing a game for example) and its dimensions will be almost identical to DS lite dimensions. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nintendo_3DSMichael

Obviously we can't see the 3D but the games look impressive, nonetheless. Yeah, 300 Euros does sound expensive, and I would expect the UK price to be around GBP250, or even more. There's no way I'd pay that for a portable console.

I suppose some of the DS games will be converted to 3DS versions by adding pseudo 3D effects and considering that the console will be backwards compatible with all games made for the DS/DSi, the starting lineup will be indeed very strong. The price doesn't make this a very good upgrade option from the DS/DSi though. I certainly won't buy this as soon as it's released - I'll wait for a price drop first..

Ok, it seems that the price of the 3DS in the US will be $249.99 and it will be released in March 27. I suppose the price in europe will be around 250 euros. I'm too eager to see the console up close! It should be another win for Nintendo!
