What? Other games came with protective film on them? You're not referring to the cover (over the screens) on the MEGO games are you? AC No, I am not talking about the MEGO versions Aris . I am referring to the Panorama Screens. I have Snoopy & had Popeye & both with the protective film on the face plate. Damo

Hmmmm, well, I was thinking that perhaps Pinball might have been the only one that didn't have the protective film on it, but, maybe it's PB, RS, BJ & M&D.... I found a Black Jack with protective film on it. At least, the seller says it's the protective film that was on it when he bought it new. Here are some pictures. I'd say it looks like protective film. What do you guys think? If so, that narrows it down to Pinball, Rain Shower, and Mickey & Donald with no protective film. Ash

It looks more like scratches to me, but it's difficult to confirm by looking these photos. We'll have to believe what the seller says, but i have my doubts. But it's just my opinion, ok Ash? Why is that there are many NIB Blackjack's (including mine), without the protective film?

Hi guys, Damian - Panos with protective film over them? Who would of thunk it? Those have got to be extremely rare, as this is the first I'm hearing of it. Too bad you got rid of the Popeye one Damo. Mike - Yes, it is hard to tell for sure, without the seller/owner of the game taking angled and/or close up pics of the game. But, looking at the pics, I'd say it looks like it DOES have the film on it! Plus, why would the guy say it does have it when it doesn't? Could be grounds for returning the item if he makes something like that up. Pablo - Re why are there so many NIB BJ games with no protective film on them. That's a good question and a good point, but, as we all know, we seem to always be finding out "NEW" things about G&Ws that we never knew before, so, this should come as no surprise. Obviously not all releases of games, that we have confirmed have the plastic film on them, actually have the plastic film on them, so, maybe with BJ, it was done in very limited numbers (a few short runs). Ash - Nice find! It has been nearly half a year since someone posted something in this thread! I guess that leaves M&D, RS & PB (Multi Screen game-wise anyway...) as the only games left to prove. Strange though, I thought for sure M&D would come with one.... AC

Looking at the serial number 459xxxxx, there's only one other Black Jack serial number that high in the database Aris was making.

Blackjack was released in two editions.. First one was without a barcode on the box. Second one was released in the late 80s with a barcode on the box. I've seen new games from both editions and neither had plastic film on them. If blackjack was ever released with plastic film on the top, the number of games that came with it must have been very small.. It doesn't really make sense but..

Eventually I can see it up close to be 100% sure. Ash

Nice find Ash! Let us know as soon as you get it! Michael Okay, I finally got this in my hands, and I can say with 100% certainty that it has the film on it. I'll post a photo later.

Here are the pics finally. You can see some scrape marks on the red bar, along with some of the film peeling in the lower right corner. You can also see faint "bubbles" in the letters of Black Jack. This is the best pic I could take. This is the second 459xxxxx Black Jack I know of with the film. I know it's not earth-shaking news, but I'm glad I finally was able to verify it.

Thanks for the photos Ash! Can you confirm it comes in a barcoded box and english paperwork? Michael Yes and yes. Here are some more photos: This is everything that came with it. Most likely they came together when brand new, but I can't be positive.

Thanks again! It's worth keeping this serial number for future reference! Michael
