Hey there guys,
I am very curious how you all keep your g&w's. I know some people are really cautious. I know f.e. that Michael keeps his g&w's in closed plastic cases and Taki stores them plastic wrapped. I also know some wellknown collectors like Nini (http://www.tricotronic.de/) store all their precious g&w's on open shelves!! Aldrin, Spinal, Marcel all store their g&w's in glass cabinets. Their g&w's are protected from dust but not from sunlight.
I still store my g&w's in metal cases but Digitalfan gave me the idea (I browsed his website) to "display" them in a closed/blinded environment (a closed cupboard f.e.). I will soon buy a nice cupboard with closed doors. As soon as I open the doors, my g&w's are displayed. As soon as I close the doors, my g&w's will be protected.
I am really curious how you do it!! Please fill in the poll and give me some remarks!

Pieter, I recently purchased a small bookshelf with a glass cupboard. So, now, I have my games for display inside. I have it in a corner of a small room where my computer resides and although there's a door to the balcony, sunlight can't hit it directly. I don't worry about the room's light although some other collectors expressed their fears that this might cause problems to the games in the long run. I might post a photo in a couple of days.

HI
Currently I keep my Game & Watch games in a closed draw. I would like to display the games, but right now I do not have a place for them. Also I don't want any sunlight to hit the games.

Matt, I used to think the same way but part of the fun of collecting the games is to display them to your friends and talk about them!

I also used to think the same way, but I would also like to display my collection for the obvious reasons that it is so nice to be able to see them all the time and to show them to friends and relatives. Therefore I will walk the road that leads through the middle; I will buy a cupboard with closed doors and display my collection inside this cupboard. As soon as I open the doors I will see all my g&w’s! ;D

Hi Pieter,
My GWs are still in their shoe box sized cartons at the moment (if you still remember those). I have just moved to a new flat which got relatively more spaces so I wonder if I might purchase an airtight container, i.e. those with temperature and humidity control normally used for delicate equipment like cameras, for storing the GWs. This would probably extend the life of the GWs by avoiding damage due to temperature fluctuations (can be over 10 degrees Celsius daily if I switch on air conditioning during summer). Btw, it's been many months since I last removed my GWs from their boxes for inspection. I am a bit worried that their conditions might have deteriorated.

Mine are in 'photographers cases' (metal lockable carry cases) in a cupboard. Not really for protection but because it's convenient to have them easily moveable, or god forbid, pick-up-able in an emergency like a fire. How many of you could quickly nab your entire collection in such an event? I'd like to have an openable cupboard, like the sort Pieter is thinking of. When I move to a new house, I may do so.

Glass cabinet for me. I know you've all seen it and if you haven't - shame on you! Not very much light gets into the room so I'm not concerned about that. Andy, I've thought about the emergency situation a number of times before. If I had just a few seconds I'd shovel them all into my doona (duvee) and flee the house with them over my shoulder like a retro 80s Santa Claus Storage in a case like you have is ideal in a fire, but you can't enjoy the look of them. pulse8

Just while we have a poll going I thought I'd mention that whenever I try to submit a vote (anytime in the last year or something) I get this error message: An Error Has Occurred You did not choose what you would like to vote for in the poll. Does anyone else ever get this? pulse8 P.S. Yes, I chose something to vote for in the poll

Innis, I receive the same error myself with Opera. Internet Explorer seems to be unaffected. Unfortunately, I can't pinpoint the source of the problem..
