Ball is an interesting piece of Nintendo history--a primitive stickman juggler on an LCD screen that led to the enormous success of Nintendo handhelds throughout the decades. The other day I found a Ball for sale with an extremely low serial number: The number on the box flap was 0000008, but unfortunately it was too expensive for me. Today I found a picture of the Club Nintendo release: After 30 years it's back with something that looks like a battery tab and display "rack," along with a nostalgic box and instruction manual. Very nice!

Wow!! Will this be the actual Nintendo club release? The game seems to be an exact replica.. Can you find any more photos?

Here's the back of the box: As you can see, there's a screw to hold the battery cover on, and apparently there's a mute button on the back somewhere. I'll let you know as soon as I get my own.

This is great, thanks for the photos! This is the first time we see the actual item. I hope I can get one soon!

Er, yeah, try ebay! There were at least 3 for sale when I looked last night. Not bad prices either. About $100.

I saw them, couldn't place a bid in time. Oh well, next time.. Here's also a picture which shows the gift box (it reminds me of the super mario special gift box in a way..): Michael

Anyone knows if this ball game has the exact size as the original one? and the box? Will they release other games from the collection or only Ball?

The game looks identical on the front!
I hope that they do release more games but my gut feeling is that they won't. It'll be something different again next time. Perhaps another DS collection?

Remember, this is an anniversary release for the 30 years since Nintendo's first ever game&watch game. I don't see them releasing any more games of this type - no reason to. The game - when you look it from the back - looks to be wider than the original but I can't say more until I got mine in the mail! Michael

Well, it looks shorter to me. Specially the box, but don't know for sure. Please the ones in this forum who own it, please confirm about the size issue. And is the sound the same as the original? and the batteries? Thanks.

Well, we know the batteries are different, this new one takes CR2032. The back of the case is of course different, it has a club nintendo logo and a different model number on it, and if I'm not mistaken, it has a lot more screws. Thais will mean that the front of the case is also different, and hence incompatible with the old games, should someone have the idea of transplanting new parts to an old ball. For those reasons, I don't see any reason why they should make it a different size. But we'll see as soon as Mike confirms Andy
