I have never, NEVER gotten a starman in my life.
I've played it between 2 mini classic version, and the original one that I got off of ebay, has never gave me a starman.
How do get the starman? I don't get how you get the game to give you them, and if there's possibly a secret to the 1-up mushrooms, can someone give me the secret to that too?

I'm not sure if this is the same thing, but playing G&W Super Mario as a kid, I remember bumping certain platforms from below would make a star pop up, or sometimes a 1-up mushroom. The star would make you temporarily invincible. Is that what you mean by "starman"?

Yeah. I they're called a starman in the video game.
I never thought to treat platforms like bricks from the game.

So I did what you said and it worked, thanks!
Edit: So I played more and I think the middle platforms have stars, and the top platforms have 1-up mushrooms.

So after studying how they appear it comes down to this.
You must be under the platform at the position the star and mushroom will appear: third to the right, middle row for 1 up mushroom second to the right, bottom row for starman
The 1 up mushrooms appear when you are from 10-19 in distance, plus each new loop you are on
example L1-1 = 10-19 L2-1 = 20-29 L3-1 = 30-39 and so on
Starman items appear when approximately every 7 enemies have appeares, and once another one appears after the 7th, the starman is no longer available until the next 7 passes. Sometimes it's 6 and sometimes it's 8. I don't really know why but that's how it works. The numbers don't reset after being a level or after dying.
