Hi All
I was operating an OIL PANIC and while operating on it something strange struck me. I was in the middle of arranging the parts where my eyes just got stuck at this number "7". This number "7" was embossed on six areas of the game.
1. In the battery compartment where the second battery is placed. Embossed below the connector terminal.
2. Embossed on the inside of Battery Cover.
3. Embossed inside of the Main Panel (Lower)
4. Embossed inside of the Sub Panel (Top)
5. Embossed inside the serial number casing.
6. Embossed inside the Face Plate casing with Lock.
These numbers must have been there with an intention to indicate some logic. Or else as i think they would not have been there.
According to me Nintendo marked each game with a number or an Alphabet to indicate that the two casing and two panels belong to a particular game. These numbers could be used in other games as well. For instance i did a little tackle with Donkey Kong and it too had the same number "7" printed in the six areas mentioned above.
I tried this with Pinball then. I noticed a difference in one panel which seemed to be of a little different color to me. By inspection i came to the conclusion that the Main panel of this pinball game was replaced by some Oil Panic Main Panel.
Can we discuss this as this can lead us to games which have replaced casings and panels. This could also prove originality of games as produced. The most interesting part was of that the battery cover which was embossed with the same number. As this could deduce that the battery cover did belong to a particular game. By this theory we can know if battery covers are also replaced from other games. Just for the originality part of it. Need a little research on this by you guys.
Awaiting discussions.
