I received it this morning, here's some decent pictures: Interestingly the Nintendo logo at the bottom has been replaced with the "Mitsubishi Cement Corporation" A quick google suggests this is a division of Mitsubishi, so I reckon that these were probably given out to customers by sales reps. in the 80's to promote their product ??

It's great, thanks for the photos! Who knows? Maybe they ordered a few from Nintendo in order to give them to employees' kids or something as a gift.. Michael

Well, well, well, I never knew that Mitsubishi had a cement division. This must have been an ultra-cool promotional item, then! They probably gave one away with every 100 tons of cement or something ;D
One thing we've never seen, and it makes me curious, is a box for any of these promo items, other than the Pokka mario bros. It makes me think that the majority of these promo items had standard boxes or were even given away loose or in very minor packaging. If they had standard boxes, though, we should have seen one by now.

I agree. I think most of these items came with either generic white boxes or standard international boxes (which makes more sense).

Yes, you're right, that it makes more sense that they would have had standard boxes, but then why have we never seen a boxed special, other than Pokka. It takes it back to the possibility that they were always given away loose. You'd think that the company doing the promo would have been able to specify packaging requirements.

Why do you say that?

We asked the same question about the 'Dove' turtle bridge, until we saw another one, and from that point, it was accepted as real. Having said that, if another mitsubishi one turns up within the next few months, I'd be extremely suspicious!

Well, unless the mitsubishi logo and letters are just plain stickers then I don't see why this should be fake.. I can verify that the Dove letters on the turtle bridge aren't part of a sticker but printed on the front plate.

And I can verify they aren't stickers on this one... they are printed on as solid as any other text/motif on the unit.

yeah... you can scratch that off easily though.. this is printed for sure.
plus, I'd love to see anyone use letroset and get a result that's as straight as that! and make no marks when removing the nintendo print from the bottom of the game !
